More About Choir House

1st – 12th grade
House Theatre offers a comprehensive choral program for Lowcountry homeschoolers. Students will have the opportunity to participate in vocal ensembles alongside their peers, move into more advanced choirs from year to year, and be trained, not just how to perform challenging choral repertoire, but also how to sight sing, how to keep their voices healthy, how to cultivate personal musicianship, and how to develop a life-long love of music.

• General Information
House is a ministry-focused non-profit organization that offers performing arts education to homeschool students. The House Choral Program is not just an isolated choir or co-op, but rather one centralized program where students can begin young and move up through the ensembles as their age and increased ability allows them to. We provide our students with the same choral performance and vocal scholarship opportunities that public schoolers have in their choral programs, in addition to training our students in music theory, sight singing, vocal health, and cultural musicianship.

In the House ensembles, homeschoolers not only get to sing full-length concerts comprised solely of choral music, but they are also given opportunities to perform publicly around the Lowcountry at sporting events, retirement homes, and more. The goal of the House Choral Program is to provide students with a musical education where the Lord is honored, and where the music and performances are clean, wholesome, excellent, and worshipful. It is a place where students can learn quality repertoire and advanced techniques alongside their peers; improve their God-given abilities; and bond with other students over a shared love for music. We don’t just prepare the students for performances; we also teach foundational musical and vocal skills and, most importantly, share the Lord’s love with these students.
