Position Title: Costume Director - School Year

House is a ministry focused theatre dedicated to glorifying God through performing arts education and opportunities for homeschool students and our broader community.
House Theatre is seeking a Costume Director to help bring each production’s vision to life while supporting our family-based costume model.
This role is ideal for someone who is highly organized, communicates clearly, and enjoys collaborating with both creative teams and parent volunteers.
Role Overview
The Costume Director will oversee costume coordination across all productions (Elementary, Junior, and Senior), ensuring each show’s vision is executed in a way that is cohesive, achievable, and supportive of our families.
Key Responsibilities
1. Vision Implementation & Practical Planning
Receive each Stage Director’s costume vision for their production
Translate that vision into a clear, manageable plan for families, recognizing that costumes are provided by each family
Ensure expectations are realistic, consistent, and communicated with clarity
2. Signature Costume Pieces (Costume Class Integration)
With each director, identify two key costume pieces per show (Elementary, Junior, Senior)
Collaborate with the Costume Teacher to integrate these pieces into the Costume Class curriculum
Oversee the design direction to ensure these pieces align with each show’s overall vision
3. Volunteer Coordination & Delegation
Organize each show’s cast into costume groupings (for example, ensemble types, townspeople, etc.)
Assign and support parent costume volunteers to oversee each grouping
Provide clear direction, references, and expectations for each group
4. Communication & Support System
Serve as the primary point of contact for costume-related questions
Equip parent volunteers to support other families, creating a streamlined communication flow
Utilize tools such as spreadsheets and the Band App to track progress and share updates
5. Quality & Cohesion Oversight
Review costume plans and submissions to ensure consistency in style, tone, and appropriateness
Help maintain a cohesive visual look across each production
Preferred Skills & Qualities
Strong communication and organizational skills
Ability to manage multiple moving pieces across several productions
Comfortable using tools such as spreadsheets and communication platforms (Band App preferred)
Collaborative, supportive, and solutions-oriented approach
Ability to guide and lead volunteers with clarity and encouragement
While prior costume experience is not required, a basic understanding of style, coordination, and visual storytelling is helpful.
This role is best suited for someone who enjoys organizing creative ideas, guiding others, and bringing structure to a collaborative process.

Position Title: Dance Junior Instructor

House is a ministry focused theatre dedicated to glorifying God through performing arts education and opportunities for homeschool students and our broader community.
Key Responsibilities:
The Dance Junior Instructor will lead a weekly dance class on Mondays from 3:30 pm to 4:20 pm for Junior level students.
The instructor will teach foundational techniques in tap and jazz, helping students grow in coordination, rhythm, and performance quality.
The instructor will structure each 50-minute class efficiently, balancing warm-ups, skill-building, and combination work.
The instructor will create a positive, encouraging classroom environment while managing a group of up to 20 students.
The instructor will collaborate with House Theatre leadership as needed to support student development and class expectations.
Requirements:
Background Check Required
Background in dance with experience in tap and jazz.
Ability to teach dance fundamentals in an age-appropriate and engaging way for middle school students.
Strong sense of time management and ability to maximize a 50-minute class structure.
Energetic, organized, and able to lead with clarity and encouragement.
Dependable with consistent availability on Mondays from 3:30 pm to 4:20 pm.
Teaching experience or youth leadership experience is a plus.
