Position Title: Dance Junior Instructor Position Number: EDU260401

Location: Northwood Baptist Church
Type: Contract Position Renewed Annually

House is a ministry focused theatre dedicated to glorifying God through performing arts education and opportunities for homeschool students and our broader community.
Key Responsibilities:
The Dance Junior Instructor will lead a weekly dance class on Mondays from 3:30 pm to 4:20 pm for Junior level students.
The instructor will teach foundational techniques in tap and jazz, helping students grow in coordination, rhythm, and performance quality.
The instructor will structure each 50-minute class efficiently, balancing warm-ups, skill-building, and combination work.
The instructor will create a positive, encouraging classroom environment while managing a group of up to 20 students.
The instructor will collaborate with House Theatre leadership as needed to support student development and class expectations.
Requirements:
Background Check Required
Background in dance with experience in tap and jazz.
Ability to teach dance fundamentals in an age-appropriate and engaging way for middle school students.
Strong sense of time management and ability to maximize a 50-minute class structure.
Energetic, organized, and able to lead with clarity and encouragement.
Dependable with consistent availability on Mondays from 3:30 pm to 4:20 pm.
Teaching experience or youth leadership experience is a plus.

Key Responsibilities:
The Set Designer will collaborate with the Director to bring the creative vision of Annie to life through thoughtful and effective scenic design.
The designer will develop a cohesive set plan that aligns with House Theatre’s budget, space limitations, and production needs.
The designer will prioritize theatre-appropriate construction, focusing on lightweight, movable, and functional set pieces that support efficient scene transitions.
With the director, the set designer will identify and design a select number of key set elements that enhance storytelling without overbuilding or overcomplicating the stage.
The designer will guide or oversee the build process to ensure pieces are executed safely, efficiently, and as designed.
The designer will collaborate with House Theatre leadership throughout the process to ensure alignment with production goals and timelines.
Requirements:
Background in theatre set design or scenic design, with practical experience in stage productions.
Strong understanding of theatrical design principles, including scale, sightlines, and designing for audience perspective.
Ability to create lightweight, modular, and transportable set pieces appropriate for a live theatre environment.
Resourceful and able to work creatively within our budget, materials, and supplies.
Strong communication and collaboration skills when working with directors and production teams.
Ability to lead or guide builds with a focus on safety, efficiency, and functionality.
